William F. Schwarckopf

William F. Schwarckopf, age 94, Of Litchfield, Ohio passed away peacefully, Friday, January 8, 2021 at Elmcroft of Medina.

William was born June 28, 1926 in Black River, NY. The son of the late Antal and Helen Schwarckopf, Hungarian Immigrants. He was one of seven children. Proud Army Veteran, he lived in Cuyahoga County for many years and moved to Litchfield to live with his daughter in 2007.

William was a retired electrical engineer with NASA, Cleveland.  He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. His greatest joy was being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  William was noted for his gift of writing poems.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Nancy (Bob) Dieter and Ellen (Greg) Reed. Grandchildren, Robert (Courtney) Dieter, Cheryl Kipp, Jessica Dieter, Allison (Josh) Quay, Eric (Hollie) Reed, Josh (Mandy) Reed, Lauren (Matt) Jackson, Cory (Ashley) Reed and Gina Reed.  Great grandchildren, Kathryn, Remington, Jenevieve, Robert, Henry, Isabella, Lola, Mazie, Ronin, Eli, Miles, Jett, Ellie, Maddie, Greyson, Paxton, Konen, Willow and Harlan.

Preceded in death by his wife Virginia, April 15, 2005.

The family of William would like to “Thank” the staff of Hospice and Elmcroft for giving their Dad, Grandpa and G PA such tender loving care during his final days.

Private Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Monday at the Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City.
