Warren Guthrie Obituary

Warren Marshal Guthrie passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 in Medina, Ohio.  He was born August 21, 1940 to Paul and Mildred (Sturm) Guthrie in Uniontown, PA. He graduated from Uniontown High School in 1958 and the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in 1960.  From 1960 to 1962 he worked for American Airlines at LaGuardia Airport in New York City. He was in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command from March 1962 to 1966 where he worked on the bombing and navigation systems of the B-52 Stratofortress. After he was honorably discharged from the Air Force he went to work for Executive Jet in Columbus, OH from 1966 to 1967. In 1967 he became a teacher at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. In 1975 he got a second job working for the United States Postal service where he stayed until he retired in 2005. He taught at PIA until 2019. He was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church where he served on the building and grounds committee; Masonic Lodge, Moose, the Elks, and he was a founding member of Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA). He is survived by his wife Patricia of 57 years, Son Todd (Debra) Guthrie of Woodburn, OR, Daughter Lori (James) Eisenbrown of Medina, OH, Son Douglas (Kirsten) Guthrie of Glenwood City, WI. Grandkids Jarod (Jennifer) Eisenbrown of Medina, Kayla (Brendan) Salvino, West Salem, OH, Alexa Eisenbrown of Medina, Patrick and Maddalene Guthrie of Woodburn, OR; Blaine, Reese and Garrett Guthrie of Glenwood City, WI and great grandkids Jake and Josie Eisenbrown and Clint and Bowen Salvino. The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice in Uniontown, OH for all of their help in the final days of his life.  There will be an hour of Visitation on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Concord Presbyterian Church, 2932 Conway-Wallrose Road, Baden, PA 15005, with a Memorial service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the church in Warren’s memory.
