Wanda Marie (Kielbasa) Olexa

Wanda Marie Olexa, 89, of Medina, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

She was born February 19, 1933 in Brownsville, PA to the late Frank and Catherine Kielbasa.  Wanda moved at a young age to the east side of Cleveland (Willowick) to live with her sister Helen and husband Andy.  She attended and graduated from Notre Dame Academy where she remained an active alumnus.  She then married her sweetheart Joe and they raised their sons in Parma.  Later, they lived in Seven Hills for 20 years and after retirement they moved to Medina in 1993.

Wanda worked at Greyhound in the mid 50’s, where she met Joe, and retired from Ohio Casualty Insurance Company.

Mom enjoyed word puzzles, playing cards and watching her favorite sports teams-the Guardians (Indians) and Cavaliers.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Joseph III (Christine) Olexa and Byron (Lisa) Olexa, and grandchildren, Meghan (Matthew) and Tyler (Ana).

Private Family Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours, 1800 Station Road, Valley City, OH, where the burial will follow the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the church in Wanda’s memory.
