Thomas G."Tom" Haury

Thomas G. "Tom" Haury, 78, of Valley City, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Weds. August 29, 2018. Tom was born in Medina on February 13, 1940 to the late Joseph and Maxine (nee Musch) Haury. He grew up in the town of Erhart and moved to Valley City in the early 1960's. Tom was well known for his interior and exterior painting work for many years. Tom was instrumental in the creation of the former Valley City Youth Football back in the 1970's. His love for sports continued as he enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball and Hot Stove Baseball for many years. Tom was an avid sports player and spectator. One of Tom's greatest treasures were his grandsons. Tom is survived by his son Randy (wife Sheila) Haury and Daughter- Chris Haury, grandsons, Tyler & Cody Haury. Sister-in-law, Joyce Haury Brainard , Brother-in-law, William (Kathy) Lattig, several nieces and nephews, and Tom's adored companion, four-legged buddy- Bo. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Ann (nee Lattig) Haury in 2003, and brother- Ted Haury. Calling hours- Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City. Please Note: Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at St. Martin of Tours Chapel, 1800 Station Road Valley City. Rev. Daniel Reed, officiating. Burial- St. Martin Church Cemetery, Valley City In lieu of flowers- The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of donor's choice.
