Sandra L. (Ogrosky) Briggs

God has called his beautiful angel to come home.

Sandra L. Briggs, 74, of North Royalton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

She was born October 22, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Walter and Stella Ogrosky.

Sandy attended West High School in Cleveland and became a licensed cosmetologist prior to graduation. She married Robert M. Briggs in 1969 and they started a family at their Poe Avenue home.  Sandy was happiest at home raising her children and spending time volunteering St. Rocco’s Church and School on Fulton Road.

The family moved to Brunswick in 1986 where she was blessed to continue staying at home to raise her children until returning to the workforce some six years later.  Sandy began her 20-plus year career with Marc’s at Marc’s No Name Restaurant in Southland, then moving to the yogurt shop inside the store and eventually to cashier prior to retiring in 2015.  Sandy’s smart wit, sharp tongue, and loving nature made her many friends and put smiles on the faces of countless customers over the years.

Perhaps the only thing that made Sandy happier than her own children was the blessing of her two grandchildren. “Gamma Briggs” would never hesitate to take the boys on a Friday night and truly loved watching them grow into wonderful young men. Nothing made her more proud.

Sandy was a staunch believer that “everything happens for a reason.” She loved a good ghost-hunting show and would recount countless times that the spirits of her mother, father, and brothers would come to pay her a visit over the years.

She is survived by her children, Shelley Briggs and Robert (Charlotte) Briggs, and her beloved grandsons, Whalter and Ethan Briggs.

Sandy will be reunited in heaven with her parents and her brothers, Ronald Roth, Mark Roth and Walter Ogrosky.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, Ohio. A private burial will be held at a later date.
