Roy L. Mennell

Roy L. Mennell, 64, of Litchfield, Ohio, a very thankful, faithful servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, passed into heaven Saturday, December 21, 2024.
He was born May 24, 1960 in Lodi, Ohio as the middle child of five children to Willard and Ruth Mennell. Roy never married but was very involved in many different things.  Roy was part of the family organic farm his entire life.  He helped with their Registered Holstein dairy right up through selling their milk cows in 2001. He worked with Rick Wilson in his seeding business from 2001-2011. He started working at Medina Tractor Supply in 2013 to present. Roy was in 4-H and served as 4-H advisor; member of FFA and received his American Farmers Degree in 1980; became a certified lay speaker in the United Methodist Church in 1994; became a Stephen Minister in 2018 and continues with many ministry speaking and group opportunities. Roy continued to help on the family farm, now run by his nephew Dan Mennell and family, and still had many memberships in several farm -oriented groups. Roy's motto-make a friend, be a friend to all you meet and bring them to Christ- is one Roy lived by.  He believed by helping others continually was the special way he could thank God for always sending him continual good blessings! Roy is survived by his sister, Janet (John) Murphey and brother Jeff (Kathy) Mennell. nephews, Mark, Dan, Tim, Brad, Nate and Andrew; nieces, Becky and Sarah; also by their spouses and children. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Willard, (1981); his mother, Ruth (2017), brother Gary, (2021) and brother Dale in (2022).
A special Celebration of Life Service that will not want to miss will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Lafayette Methodist Church, 6201 Lafayette Road, Medina, Ohio. Rev. Bob Ludwig, officiating.  Family and friends are invited for visitation at Lafayette Methodist Church on Monday, January 6, 2025  from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM. at the Lafayette Methodist Church. Burial will be held following the service in Chatham Cemetery. Roy was such a thankful and giving person that everyone attending the actual funeral will receive a thank -you gift from Roy following this service.
In Lieu of Flowers: The family suggests memorials by made to the Risley Agricultural Center c/o 10762 Smith Road, Litchfield, Ohio 44253 in memory of Roy.
