Ronald E. Steppenbacker, Sr. 72, of Valley City passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
Ron was born March 9, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Andrew and Charlotte (Carter) Steppenbacker. He resided in Brunswick most of his life. Ron had worked for the Lester Industries, Bedford Hts. for 30 years. He was a decorated United States Army combat veteran of the Vietnam War.
Ron enjoyed playing softball on various leagues, coaching his kid’s sports teams and watching the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavs. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his children, Gina (French) Floyd, Harley (Amy) Steppenbacker, and Ron Steppenbacker, Jr.; Grandchildren Jorden, Logan, Ryan and Ellen Steppenbacker, Laci Rozier, Avery Sutton, Chelsea (Tripp) Walton, Ryley Floyd and French Preston Floyd. Mother of his children, Michele Steppenbacker.
Brothers, David (Dolores) Steppenbacker, and Danny (Linda) Steppenbacker, Charles “Buzz” (Gloria) Glass and Sisters-in law, Brenda and Kathie Steppenbacker as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by brothers George and Andy Steppenbacker, Tommy, Bill (Betty) and Don Glass and sister Juanita (Chuck) Hargis, and his late wife Velma.
Celebration of Life Gathering 3 PM, on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church 2233 Abbeyville Road Valley City, Ohio.
