Robert Yohman Obituary

Robert “Bob” Yohman, 84, went to heaven to be with his dear Lord on Sunday, May 8th, 2022, surrounded by prayers and in the comfort of his home in Valley City, OH.

Bob was born on May 3rd to the late John and Mary Yohman. He grew up in Fairbanks, PA. It was here that he met his soulmate, Maxine, and their fairytale love story began. From the moment they laid eyes on each other, Bob and Maxine were inseparable. Over time, they developed a type of love that somehow grew stronger and stronger each day of their 63-year marriage. It is an enduring love that will be a point of envy and aspiration for their family, friends and everyone who had the pleasure to know them, as they continue on in their own relationships throughout life.

Bob was about family. He was a servant of God, a devout Catholic through and through. He was a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and an Acolyte at St. Martin of Tours Church serving funerals and morning mass for over ten years. He was compassionate and caring. He liked to have an ice-cold beer. But only one. He enjoyed an occasional milkshake and a small bowl of fruit in the evening. If it was broke, Bob knew how to fix it. He was as meticulous as they come - his workbench, yard and the interior of his truck were evidence of that. He sometimes talked with a Pennsylvania twang. But he hardly ever raised his voice. Boy, what his family would do to hear “waitawhile” just once more. He rarely showed weakness but was gentle, vulnerable, and generous. He always had a minute to lend a hand. He was an avid sports lover. Bob could often be found playing a quick nine holes after supper. He and Maxine hardly ever missed a game or match that their children, grandchildren or great grandchildren competed in.

Bob was and will remain the main root that deeply grounds the family tree. It is a magnificent tree that continues to widen, branch off and grow stronger, taller, and nearer to Heaven in the sky as days go by. He will be dearly, dearly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maxine and their three children, Mark (Kathy), Karen (Patrick Kirchner) and Jeff (Teresa); his sixteen grandchildren, Michael, Nicole (Chris), Kevin (Amy), Danny (Sarah), Keith, Brookana, Makenze (Jason), Tyler (Jessica), Zack (Danielle), Anna (Jimmy), Alexa (Mike), Samantha, Jaret, Nick, Maggie and Rose (Nico); and his thirteen great grandchildren, Sydnee, Savannah, Sophia, Landen, Giana, Donnie, Ryker, Joanie, June, Lukas, Hudson, Barrett and Ayla.

Bob was proceeded in death by his parents, siblings; Paul, John, Edward, William (George), Mary, Margaret and daughter in law Tiffany.
