Robert Donald Meyers

Robert D. Meyers “Trapper Bob”, 74, of Medina, OH passed away on Weds. December 4, 2019.

 Bob was born February 21, 1945 in Medina to the late Donald and Margaret (nee Metzger) Meyers.  He grew up on a farm in York Township and has been a lifelong Medina County resident.

Bob had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Valley City, where he had served on church council, cemetery association and deacon.

He retired after 36 years of service as highway maintenance supervisor with Medina County Highway Department.  Bob was a dedicated workaholic who never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a hand whether it be at the tree farm, assisting farmers, collecting aluminum cans or trapping varmints which is how is got his trademark “Trapper Bob”. Bob had his Ohio State Nuisance Trapper's License.

Bob was one of the first drivers in the Medina County Fair Demolition Derby, later serving a track official for many years.

Bob was that guy who we all loved for his pranks that he enjoyed playing on friends and his genuine jokester personality.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Dianne (nee Adams), married 52 years. Sister, Bettie Vormelker Akers, niece, Cynthia Freeland, great niece and nephew, Zoe and Zigmund Freeland.  Numerous cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Robert Vormelker.

Friends and family are invited to a Graveside Service, 11:00 AM, Weds. December 11, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, 2233 Abbeyville Road      

Valley City, Ohio.
