Rev. Dennis D. Murawski
January 30, 1948 – July 15, 2025
Rev. Dennis D. Murawski, 77, of Medina, Ohio, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and pastor, Dennis spent his life sharing the hope and promise of Christ with all he met and serving his community with compassion and steadfast faith. His kindness, wisdom, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dennis was born on January 30, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Warren and Esther (Buuck) Murawski. He received his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, answering God’s call to shepherd His people with grace, compassion, and unwavering faith.
During his many years of ministry, Pastor Murawski served congregations at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waverly, Ohio, Our Savior Lutheran Church in Chillicothe, Ohio, and finally at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Valley City, Ohio, where he served faithfully from 1978 until his retirement in 2013. Through his ministry, he touched countless lives, offering comfort in times of sorrow, guidance in times of uncertainty, and the hope of Christ’s promises to all who knew him.
In addition to his pastoral calling, Dennis was a talented artist, expressing his creativity through stained glass artwork, wood carvings, and other pieces that reflected his love of beauty and craftsmanship. Many of his creations can still be found in his church and in the homes of friends and family, serving as a lasting reminder of his creativity and generosity.
Above all, Dennis was devoted to his family, cherishing the time spent together whether around the dinner table, in the pews of St. Paul, or during family gatherings filled with laughter and stories. This coming September, he and his beloved wife, Susan (Specker) Murawski, would have celebrated 50 years of marriage, a testament to their steadfast love and partnership.
Dennis was a proud and loving father to his sons, Timothy (Jessica), James (Michelle), and Robert, and a devoted grandfather to Caleb, Gabriel, Julia, Hailey, Aden, and Devon, each of whom brought him great joy and pride. He was a supportive and caring brother to his siblings, Warren Jr. (Gale), Wayne (Sharon), Dale, Douglas, and Darlene (Richard). Dennis will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and members of his congregation, all of whom were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and deep faith.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dennis’s life during calling hours on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Gathering Area of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1377 Lester Road, Valley City, Ohio. Visitation will continue on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., with the Funeral Service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Paul Cemetery, where he will rest in the promise of the resurrection he so faithfully proclaimed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, where Dennis dedicated so much of his life in service to the Lord and the community.
The Bauer Funeral Home in Valley City has the honor of serving the Murawski family during this time of remembrance and celebration of a life well-lived in faith and love.
