Ralph Eugene Halblaub 90, of Valley City, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, June 26, 2020.
Ralph was born June 17, 1930 in Medina to the late August and Emma (nee Hutchins) Halblaub. He was a lifelong resident of Medina County. Ralph was a U.S. Navy veteran who served from 1948-1957. He was a member of the Brunswick American Legion #234.
Ralph had worked as an underground lineman with Ohio Edison and R & R Disposal. He operated his own Halblaub Disposal prior to working for the City of Medina in the sanitation department and then retired from the Brunswick Hills Golf Course.
He actively bowled in leagues at Medina AMF Lanes and Hoover Lanes, Brunswick and also enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (nee Johnson-Hubley) married Oct. 22, 1960. Children, Sue (Roger) Hubley- Seward, Richard (Carol) Hubley, and Diana Halblaub. 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, 1 great -great grandchild and a sister Marguerite Klinect.
Preceded in death by an infant daughter- Mary Ann Halblaub and three brothers- Richard, Rolland and Earl Halblaub.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1605 Center Road Hinckley, OH (with seating only for the immediate family in the church all other attendees may listen to the service in the parking lot by tuning their car radio to 91.7 AM).
A private family graveside service will be on Monday, July 13, 2020 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to the family to help defray final expenses.
