Peter A. Borling, Jr. 93, of Columbia Station, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Weds. July 1, 2020.
Pete was born on July 10, 1926 in Strongsville, OH and has resided in Columbia Station for 71 years.
Pete was a U.S. Navy veteran who served 8 years during World War II, the Korean War and in the Reserves. He was present on ship when the surrendering at Tokyo Bay occurred on 9/2/1945.
Pete was instrumental in the construction of the Columbia VFW Hall and was a charter member.
He was a member of Painting and Allied Trades for 50 years with Local 867.
Pete enjoyed ballroom dancing and taking drives throughout Amish country. He was an avid gardener and took pride in maintaining his yard.
Pete will be greatly missed by his family and numerous friends he has touched.

Cherished Grandfather of Alecia Ricks (Brandon), Peter Borling, IV (Kandice), Dennis Borling, Jr. (Christa), Danae Corbett, Douglas Borling (Amy), Diana Marquis (Michael), Allan Borling, Jr. (Jill), Kevin Borling (Megan) and Randy Borling, special
great grandfather of 24 and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Irene (nee Klooz), married 64 years, a great grandson, Benjamin Borling, Brother Donald Borling and sisters Madeline Calta and Jane Pindroh.
Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 4, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Royalton Road Columbia Station, family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM in the church gathering area. Rev. Charles Ryba, officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Martin of Tours Cemetery, 1800 Station Road Valley City with full military honors.
