Paul D. Peyton, 85, of York Township, Ohio passed away peacefully into his heavenly Father’s care on Friday, September 13, 2024.
Paul was born May 14, 1939 in Mt. Hope, West Virginia to the late Leslie and Naomi (Wiseman) Peyton. He had resided in Cleveland prior to York Township in 1971.
Paul had worked in the HVAC division of PPG Industries in Cleveland for 32 years.
He was a proud veteran serving in the United States Navy for four years. Paul was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Valley City. During the years that his sons were in school, Paul was very active in the Buckeye Boosters, serving as President for several years. He also was a dedicated member of the York Historical Society serving 10 years as President and he was awarded the York Township Citizen of the year award.
Paul was an active member of several antique car clubs, Medina Cruisers and the Rambling Rods. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, square dancing, hot rodding and building hot rods.
What brought Paul the greatest joy was his family, entertaining family annual reunions, celebrating friends by hosting many parties on his lake.
He never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing his keen wit.
Paul is survived by his wife Gloria (Martin) married 64 years, sons: Doug (Lisa) Peyton and Gary (Laurie) Peyton, grandchildren: Ashley (Kristian) Davis, Jennifer Reynolds, Matt (Hannah) Peyton, Michael Peyton (Brianna), Brandon (Tracy) Akers and Alicia Gonzalez; Great grandchildren, Adriana, Maya, Ben, Carter, Rose, Brayden, John and also survived by two brothers, Joseph (Sarah) Peyton and Jerry (April) Peyton.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church Gathering area 2233 Abbeyville Road Valley City, Ohio where the funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Burial will follow at York Township Cemetery, Mallet Creek, Ohio.
