Mary Lou K. (Wagner) Gorze

Mary Lou K. Gorze, 91, of Medina, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Lou was born in Cleveland, Ohio, May 5, 1934 to the late William and Katherine (Waldmueller) Wagner. As a child, Mary Lou moved with her parents back to Germany from 1939-1947, where she experiences living through the World War II era. In 1947, she returned to the United States and lived in Cuyahoga County prior to moving to Valley City where she resided for 35 years.  In 2004, she and her husband George moved to Medina. Mary Lou worked 12 ½ years at Medina General Hospital as an EKG/cardiologist technician and later worked at Southwest General Hospital and the Cleveland Clinic.  She was an active member of Peace of Peace Lutheran Church, Medina and a former member of Kings Daughters. After retiring, Mary Lou enjoyed volunteering at the Altenheim Nursing Home, Strongsville, Ohio where she did ceramic crafts for 10 years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sailing and had done extensive traveling to 10 countries and at least 39 states.

Survived by her children, Mark (Donna) Gorze, Katherine (Jim) Laubert and Richard (Karen) Gorze; grandchildren, Andre Dearment (Johnny), Matthew (Molly) Laubert, Katherine (Matthew) Sabol, David (Bridget) Laubert, Meghan Laubert, Ryan (Kristie) Zajaczkowski, Brandon (Jourdan) Zajaczkowski and Sean Gorze; great grandchildren, Grace, Maxwell, Myles, Dean, Michael, Callahan and Enslie.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband George, 2004 and brothers, Walter and William Wagner.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, OH.

Graveside service  will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Valley City, OH
