MaryAnn Riccio Obituary

MaryAnn Riccio, born September 3, 1946, passed away peacefully January 27, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was 75.  She was born in Cleveland, OH where she spent most of her life, most recently residing in Medina.  She graduated in 1964 from St. Augustine High School and earned her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1965. MaryAnn practiced nursing for over forty years at St. John West Shore Hospital and Pleasantview Nursing Home.  Upon her retirement, she enjoyed her job as a greeter at Walmart. She always got a kick out of saying she worked for “Asset Protection”.  She loved gardening and grew some of the best tomatoes you could find.  She was a spunky gal and enjoyed traveling, gambling in Vegas, The Kentucky Derby, dancing, bargain hunting, pink flamingos, Amish country, road trips, baking for the holidays, going on adventures, and simply drinking wine and sitting in the sun.  Above all, she adored her family and friends, and she will be dearly missed.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gary Benda. She is survived by her children, Richard Bianchi (Anna DeLuca), Renee (nee Bianchi) and David Dzuroff, Lisa (nee Bianchi) and Andrew Hill, Christine (nee Bianchi) and William Vanderbilt IV.  Cherished “Grandma #1” to Kayla (Tim), Will, Jessica (Travis), Kaitlyn, Nicholas, Shane, Maria, and Celia. Great Grandmother “GiGi” to Brookelyn.
