Mark Titus Obituary

Mark D. Titus, age 72, of Litchfield, Ohio passed away January 25, 2026 after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Beloved husband of Debbie (nee Fondale); loving father of Mike (Jenna) and Matt (Aleris); and proud grandpa “Paw” to Carter and Zoe.  Mark was born December 6, 1953 to the late Dorsey and Betty (nee Ramsey) Titus in Canton, Ohio; brother to the late Patricia (Don) Hartong; uncle to Cindy (Dave) Tucker and Joyce (Chip) Edwards; and Great Uncle to Nathan Edwards. He was a loving uncle, cousin, and friend to many more.

Mark was born in Canton and moved to Orrville as a boy.  He graduated from Orrville High School, then Kent State University, and started his career working in retail management making friends and meeting his wife Debbie along the way.  Eventually, Mark and Debbie settled in Litchfield where they raised their two boys.

Mark was a music lover, especially progressive rock, and spent a lifetime amassing a collection of records, cassettes, CD’s, and memorabilia.  He loved to attend concerts and planned multiple vacations around the shows and venues he wanted to see.

He could often be found watching and attending various sporting events; especially Cleveland Indians/Guardians, Browns (enjoyed as much as could be expected recently...), Cavaliers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and high school football.  He became a regular attendee at Carter’s various sporting events (soccer, swimming, baseball, etc.), rarely missing an event.

Mark appreciated traveling including memorable trips based around sporting events, concerts, family trips to Puerto Rico to visit his daughter-in-laws family, and most recently a long road trip out West that he meticulously planned.

Following retirement from a long career as a manager at TJ Maxx, he preferred to stay busy with a collection of odd jobs that included event staff at the Akron Rubber Ducks, the University of Akron, and autobody paint delivery driver. His #1 retirement job was daycare provider for his grandkids.  He loved his role as “Paw” and perfected his grandpa skills, spending time with Carter and Zoe and his grandpup Coshi.

Mark showed his love by being present and showing up tirelessly (including those many 6AM daycare shifts). His memory will live on in those that knew him, and he will be sorely missed.
