Mark A. Haehn, 70, of Wellington, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
Mark was born on December 1, 1950 in Euclid, Ohio to the late Robert Sr and Dolores (Braun) Haehn. He spent the majority of his youth in Galveston, Texas, moving to Lorain County in 1962. There he met and married his high school sweetheart, Nancy.
Mark started his career as one of Sohio’s youngest station managers and had various businesses throughout his lifetime. His speciality was all things carwash related. He built numerous carwashes in Ohio and the surrounding states.
Mark loved connecting with everyone and he became known as ‘The Sign Guy’. At his business in Avon Lake, he displayed messages on the reader board, sometimes silly, often wise, but always interesting. He championed the underdog, the truth, and what was best in life.
He is especially missed by his wife of 49 years, Nancy (Nagel) Haehn, children; Merica, Benjamin, Deanna, and Andrew Haehn, brothers; Robert Jr and Gregory Haehn, and a host of wonderful in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by brother Russell Haehn.
Following Mark’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Gathering to be held outdoors at 33294 Detroit Road, Avon, Ohio on Wednesday October 13th from 3-7pm, casual attire. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at stjude.org/givehope
