Marie Eleanor (Tuczynski) Olafson

Marie Eleanor (nee Tuczynski) Olafson, 68, of Clear Fork, WV went to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. Born o November 26, 1951 in Elyria, OH, she was the daughter of the late Steve E. and Dorothy Alice Joppeck Tuczynski.

She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Robert “Reuben” Dale Olafson; beloved daughter Karen Baird and her husband Benjamin of Ayer, MA; two brothers, Edward Anthony Tuczynski of Minneapolis, MN and John Eugene Tuczynski of Elyria, OH; and a host of other loving family and friends.

A 1970 graduate of Buckeye High School, Marie obtained graduate degrees in education (specializing in music, math and reading) and was a beloved teacher, dedicating several decades of her life to education children in Wyoming County, WV.

Marie will be laid to rest along with her parents at St. Martin of Tours Parish, 1800 Station Road, Valley City, OH, with a short burial service to be officiated by Father Daniel Reed on Friday, July16, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
