Mancel D. Samples, age 61, of Medina, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021 peacefully following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mancel was born June 6, 1959 in Lodi, Ohio to the late Junior and Mary (nee Stalnaker) Samples. He has resided in Medina County his whole life. Mancel was a 1977 graduate of Buckeye High School where he was involved in FFA, Eagle Scout and also a member of 4-H. He enjoyed attending the Medina County Fair and actively entered the tractor pulling events and later became involved with different Fair Committees. He was a volunteer EMT and Firefighter with multiple districts for many years. Mancel was actively farming land on his family home property and helping local farmers friends.
Mancel was a self-employed commercial electrician and was currently employed at Discount Drug Mart, Medina. He was well known for helping friends and family with many tasks of repairs that were needed.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Dee Layne (nee Kindig) married 22 years, and sisters, Susan Marco and Leah (Larry) Hershey, nieces and nephew Melody Marco, Mary Beth Marco, Katie (Brian) DeSimone, Kevin Hershey (Kelly) and Carolyn (Dennis) Copeland and great nieces and nephews, Taylor, Jenna, Justin, Maddie, Randy and Owen.
Following Mancel’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place.
A private family inurnment will be held at Litchfield Cemetery.
