Lois Irene Schultz
March 16, 1943 – June 28, 2025
Lois Irene Schultz of Medina, Ohio, dedicated her life to the calling of nursing, offering hope, a warm smile and words of encouragement to those in her care. With heavy hearts, her family announces her passing on Saturday, June 28, at the age of 82.
Born on March 16, 1943, in Cleveland, Lois lived a full and vibrant life. She was raised on her parents’ farm in Columbia Station alongside her two sisters. After graduating from Columbia High School, she followed her passion for caring for others, earning a nursing degree from Lutheran Medical Center School of Nursing and a sociology degree from Baldwin Wallace College.
Lois dedicated more than 50 years of her life to nursing, serving with compassion at several hospitals, including Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland; Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights; and Columbia General Hospital in Tampa, Florida. She took great pride in concluding her career as a hospice nurse at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Pinellas Park, where she found profound purpose in providing comfort and dignity for patients in their final days.
Though she never married, Lois found deep fulfillment in horseback riding, gardening, attending concerts and the theatre, volunteering, watching sunsets at the beach, and spending time with family and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Helen (Lannoch) Schultz and her sister, Grace (Schultz) Markwood. She is survived by her beloved sister, Ethel (Robert) Schiemann, and her nieces and nephews: Faith (Doug) Bambeck, Melissa (Jeffrey) Greenstein, Christopher Markwood, Jules (Scott) Sauer and Benjamin (Honnah) Schiemann. Lois also leaves behind many great-nieces and great-nephews who were close to her heart.
