Lois Ann Johnson, 74, of Atwater, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 11, 2025 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Lois was born on December 1, 1950, in Charleston, West Virginia, to Clyde Vernon and Wandalene (Dillon) Nelson. She resided in the Valley City/Brunswick area for many years and moved to Ravenna in 2020 to be closer to her daughter. Lois worked as a Customer Service Specialist for the automotive division at Avery Dennison and later earned a Medical Assistant diploma from Remington College, subsequently working for a pulmonologist at the Cleveland Clinic.
Lois leaves behind a selfless legacy of unconditional love, kindness and dedication to her family. She was a caretaker for many of her aging family members. She always put others before herself and she absolutely loved being a grandmother. She lived for her grandchildren; they were her whole world. She loved animals and had an affinity for her grand-dogs, Remi, Rylee and Harper.
She was an avid reader, loved to color and be challenged by a good puzzle.
Lois is survived by her daughter Sherry Weber (Ken Lindsey) her son, Tony (Megan) Johnson, and grandchildren Sarah and Jacob Weber and Ava Marshall. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law Brenda Nelson, Ruth (Stan) Henderson and Joan (Walter Kobak) Johnson, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald and her brothers Clyde Vernon Jr., Tim, Terry, and Ronnie Nelson.
Visitation will take place from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road, Valley City, OH. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, 2233 Abbeyville Road, Valley City.
