Kenneth E. Hist

Kenneth “Kenny” E. Hist, 79, of Valley City passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

Kenny was born September 24, 1940 in Elyria, Ohio to the late Carl and Erla (Loescher) Hist.

He had lived in North Ridgeville and Erhart before he moved and built his Valley City home in 1967.

Kenny was a U.S. Army veteran and had worked as a postal worker for 30 years in Medina City. After retiring, he lent a helping hand to several farmers in the local area.

He thoroughly loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends at his cabin.

Kenny was a strong willed, hardworking man with a dry sense of humor that many are sincerely going to miss.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rita (Neumeyer), sons, Michael (Paula) Hist, Steven and Scott Hist. Grandchildren Anthony, Erin, Jacob, James, Frank and Casey. Uncle of 8 and great uncle of 15.

Brother-in-laws, Robert (Suzanne) Neumeyer and David Neumeyer.

Preceded in death by his sister, Erla Brooks and a sister-in-law, Patricia Neptune.

 A private family service will be held and burial at St. Martin of Tours Cemetery, Valley City.

During this current pandemic period, for the safety and health of our family and friends, we will have a Memorial Service at a later date that will be announced.

In Lieu of Flowers- The Family suggests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Western Reserve Hospice.
