Kazue (Neoi) DeLaVars

Kazue DeLaVars (nee Neoi) 90, passed away peacefully June 15, 2023 at Maxwell Lilies Adult Care in Brunswick, Ohio. 

Born in Japan on February 17, 1932, she had resided in Fairborn, Ohio for 45 years with her husband, Douglas T. DeLaVars, prior to moving to Brunswick.

Everyone knew Kazue to be generous with a good sense of humor. She was an accomplished seamstress who also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, oil painting and Japanese TV.  Her family cherishes the many afghans and sweaters she gifted them.

Survivors include her stepdaughter, Marlene DeLaVars Jacobs (Wil) of Elyria, grandchildren, Sidney Wise (Amber) of Wellington, OH and Angela W Drozdowski (Colin) of Mechanicsville, VA, three great grandchildren, and her sister and nieces in Japan.

She was preceded in death in 2006 by her husband of over 50 years, Douglas T. DeLaVars, her parents, her brother in Japan and her brother-in-law Gordon L. DeLaVars.

The family would like to thank Ina Chiveri of Maxwell Lilies Adult Care for her loving care and dedication as well as Southern Care Hospice.

Kazue will be laid to rest with husband in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.  Her nephew, Fr. Gordon J. DeLaVars, will officiate at a private service.

The Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City has the honor of serving Kazue’s family.
