Kathy Jo Reutter

Kathy Jo Reutter, 65, of Medina, went to her heavenly home and into Jesus’ arms on Sunday, September 24, 2023, after battling a short illness.  She was a loving sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. 

Kathy Jo was born on June 21, 1958, in Valley City, to the late Louise (Beran) and Herbert Reutter. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1976. 

Kathy Jo attended St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Medina as her work schedule permitted.

Kathy Jo worked at Buehler’s (River Styx) over 35 years as seafood manager.  She loved helping her customers, many whom she had a personal relationship with, giving her much joy. She was a great listener. Kathy Jo always had a kind word for someone who needed it. She always visited those in the hospital. She was an example of one of God’s disciples on earth.

She will be greatly missed by her seven siblings Jane, Robert, Beth (Paul), David, Carl, Lori, and Connie.  She was a kind, caring, loving, fun Aunt Kathy Jo to her many nieces and nephews:  Sarah, Shannon, Shelby, Suzy Reutter; Matthew (Carrie) Reutter, son Austin; Morgan Reutter; Ashley (Aaron) Wyant, sons Josh and Zach; Jeff (Ann) Martin, son Adam; Becky Martin-Vincent, daughter Andrea and son Kyle; Frank (Amanda) Reutter, sons Brennan and Garrett; Susan Reutter; Jason (Annabelle) Reutter, daughters Jenna and Evelyn; Mary Jo (Joel) Pitzen, son Joey; Jenna (Geoff) Guthrie, children Annalynn, Maddox, Camden, and Anders.  

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Sandy, sister-in-law Karen, brother-in-law Joe, brother-in-law Steve and niece Tracey.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2233 Abbeyville Road, Valley City, Ohio 44280.

Any memorial contributions can be given to her childhood church, Zion Lutheran, Valley City or to the charity of ­­�­­your choice.  Please no flowers.
