Joseph S. Olexa, Jr., 87, of Medina, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020.
He was born August 29, 1932 in Boswell, PA to the late Joseph Sr. and Mary Ann (Hudak) Olexa. Joe moved at a young age with his family to the Eastside of Cleveland. He then married his sweetheart Wanda and they raised their sons in Parma. Later, they lived in Seven Hills for 20 years and after retirement they moved to Medina in 1993.
Joe had worked in the finance department at Greyhound in the mid 60’s and retired after 30 years in sales with Boise Cascade, Cleveland.
Joe was veteran in the U.S. Army during the Korean war for three years acquiring the rank of Corporal.
He enjoyed coin collecting as his hobby.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Wanda (nee Kielbasa), sons, Joseph III (Christine) Olexa and Byron (Lisa) Olexa. Grandchildren, Meghan and Tyler
Private Family Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours, 1800 Station Road Valley City, OH, where the burial will follow the Mass.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the church in Joe’s memory.
