John E. (Jack) Sliter, 82, of Medina passed away on Weds. Nov. 13, 2019.
Jack was born June 16, 1937 and grew up in Grand Gorge, NY. Upon graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After serving four years, he attended Rochester University where he spent four years on the Dean’s list. Jack moved to New York City and took a position at Price Waterhouse, earned his CPA and moved to Ohio in 1975, working at Key Bank until he retired in 1999.
In 1987, Jack moved to Valley City, buying a small horse farm, where he raised his family and became involved in a lifelong dream of showing and training horses. He was a member of St. Martin of Tours for many years, and served as Eucharist minister.
Jack will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, Ellen (nee Bell).
Children, Jeannine Sliter, John (Karen) Sliter and Matthew Sliter.
Grandchildren, Joshua Sliter, Jack Sliter and Connor Hencke.
Preceded in death by a sister, Joan Tribble.
Following Jack request, cremation has taken place.
There will be Celebration of Life Mass to be held at a later date.
