John Wendel Obituary

John T. Wendel, age 71, of Columbia Station, Ohio passed away on December 8, 2020.

John was born August 28, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Walter and Alice (nee VanOrsdall) Wendel. He has resided in Lorain County since 1983.

John owned his own business Wendel Machine Tool and worked as a machinist for many years. He took a great interest in herpetology (reptiles) and had the talent of woodworking.

John was an active member of the Medina Kennel Club. He had a special love for dogs, especially his faithful companion, Louie.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Robert (Michelle) Haff, Nathan Wendel and Arin (Kimberly) Wendel; grandchildren, Johnney Nace, Myranda, Arron and Gaeg Wendel. His sisters Joyce Wendel (Larry Smith) and Marcia (Charles) Fritz.

John was preceded in death by his wife Susan Wendel in 2012, and an infant brother, James A. Wendel.

There will be NO visitation and cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date when it is safer for family and friends to meet.

In lieu of flowers- The family suggests memorials may be made to the Medina Kennel Club in John’s memory.
