John L. Maringer

2/1/1950 – 1/31/2024

John Maringer of Berea, Ohio passed away January 31, 2024 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Maringer and Marjorie Pennington.  Beloved husband of 44 years to Dianne (nee Higham). Loving father of Rachel McBride, Jonathan Maringer, Devan Maringer (Danielle), and Paul Hart (Dana); Grandfather of Christopher Barwise, Quinn Maringer, and Parker Hart; Great grandfather of Cayden Barwise. Brother of Richard Maringer (Karen), Kathy Haury (Tim), Rob Maringer (deceased), Ted Maringer, and Paul Vaughn. Uncle and friend to many.

A devoted truck driver for 50 years, John operated like a human GPS, and would happily get you where you needed to go.  As a lifetime fisherman, he loved fishing with his boys in Canada, or over some pickles at Kujat’s. Ever the Tribe fan, John could be found tinkering in the garage with the ball game turned up.

Friends and family are welcome to a visitation at Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road Valley Cit, Ohio 44280. Monday, February 5, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Open visitation with family will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, 12:00 noon, at Strongsville United Church of Christ, 13740 Pearl Road, Strongsville, OH  44136 (corner of Pearl Road and Route 82).  Followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30 pm and a luncheon at 1:00 pm.

Memorial contributions in John’s memory may be made to the United Church of Christ (Strongsville).
