John S. Bartkiewicz, Jr.

John S. "Sonny" Bartkiewicz, Jr., 70, of Valley City passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family on May 22, 2020.

He was born in Cleveland to the late John Sr. and Lillian (nee Krusinski) Bartkiewicz. He has lived in Medina County for many years. John had been a millwright with the former Alcoa, Cleveland.

John enjoyed being outdoors working in his yard and gardening.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 51 years, Christine (nee Nendza), daughter Rose Bartkiewicz, brothers- Dale (Sue) Bartkiewicz and Daniel Bartkiewicz and sister- Debra (Mark) Blasco. Uncle and friend to many.

Preceded in death by his son Robert Bartkiewicz, granddaughter, Lauren Rose and a brother-in-law, David Nendza.

John deserves a true tribute to his life lived, but due to the current health and safety of our friends and family, there will be a private family service and burial held on Tuesday at the Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City.  Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at later date.

Memorials are suggested if desired to the American Heart Association or to the Kidney Foundation.
