Obituary

Jerry Alan Buddie, 68, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2020 after a difficult battle with cancer.  Beloved husband of Cathe (nee Miller) for 17 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John Buddie and Josephine LaMattina, sister, Janice Marcellus and brother-in-law, Cliff Marcellus. He is survived by his brother Jim (Betty) Buddie, children Sarah Jo (Todd) Myers, Matthew Buddie, Michael Strzala and Dawn (Mike) Nageotte, and grandchildren Natalie and Audrey Myers, Mackenzie and Maclane Buddie, and Mikayla and Hailey Strzala.

Jerry was born at Lodi Hospital and lived his entire life in Medina County. He was a 1970 graduate of Buckeye High School and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  Jerry could fix almost anything and truly enjoyed working with his hands.  He was an avid reader, enjoyed going to auctions and spending time with his family. His warm and friendly smile greeted customers at Valley City Supply where he worked until his retirement in 2019.  He was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Valley City and walked to church on all but the coldest Sundays.  Jerry was a loyal and dependable person who helped both friends and strangers alike.  Whenever anyone needed help, they could count on him to lend a hand.  Jerry lived a full life and his kindness will be missed by many.

Due to COVID concerns, services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested if desired to the Buckeye Athletic Boosters, c/o of Buckeye High School, 2084 Columbia Road, Medina, Ohio 44256. Please indicate that your contribution is in memory of Jerry Buddie.
