Jeremy Wayne Douglass

Jeremy W. Douglass, 53, of Valley City, Ohio passed away July 1, 2026.

Jeremy lived life on his own terms.  He had a deep a appreciation for antiques, old tools, and anything with history.  He believed that if something still worked, there was no reason to replace it, which meant new technology rarely impressed him. Although, he eventually accepted an iPhone, but only because it was free.

Jeremy enjoyed spending time searching flea markets, antique stores, and finding hidden treasures.  He enjoyed collecting firearms, knives, vintage signs, and just about anything with a story.  He appreciated craftsmanship, history, and preserving pieces of the past that others might have overlooked.  He also enjoyed fishing and finding peace in the quiet moments outdoors.

Above all else, Jeremy will be remembered as a kind and easygoing man.  He was comfortable with who he was, never felt the need to impress anyone, and treated others with kindness and respect.  He remained true to the values passed down to him by his father and was happiest living life simply and without unnecessary fuss.

Jeremy is survived by his wife and best friend, Crystal Douglass; his son, Jaron Douglass, his daughter, Sierra Clark, whom he loved as his own; his son, Logan Clark, who he raised and loved as his own; his grandchildren, Naomi Clark and Nathan Clark; his mother, Judy Douglass; his sisters, Christina Gallagher and Jennifer Douglass; his brother-in-law, Matthew Gallagher; his daughter-in-law, Nadiya Clark; his nieces, Madison and Emma Gallagher, and his nephew, Chase Gallagher.  He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Douglass.

In accordance with Jeremy’s wishes, he was cremated. Rather than being remembered for grand gestures, Jeremy would likely prefer to be remembered in the simple ways that reflected who he was: browsing the flea market, casting a fishing line into quiet water, sharing stories about that deer he saw on his way home, and finding the value in things that no else could.

His family asks that those who knew Jeremy remember him by extending the same kindness to other that he showed throughout his life.

Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Valley City, 6936 Center Road, Valley City, Ohio, with a service at 11:00 am.
