James Cecil Foster, 77, of Medina, Ohio passed away on September 5, 2020. James was born in Worley, Kentucky on June 1, 1943 to the late George and Lora (nee Roberts) Foster.
Prior to embarking on his many, colorful adventures, Foster grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and ultimately found himself home in Medina County. Foster served in the United States Army for 2 years, 9 months and 27 days where he became a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. Following the war, Foster was discovered by the United States Secret Service and briefly employed within the Treasury Department where he proceeded to serve as bodyguard for President Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II.
James enjoyed drinking, fishing and winning all of your money in a game of poker. He played golf and visited the local thrift stores.
He will be so, incredibly missed by his daughters, McKenna and Victoria Foster as well as his siblings, John, Shirley and Larry Foster. He was preceded in death by a brother, Morris Foster.
"To Celebrate him Home"- all who mourn him are welcome to join his family at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio. (Please gather at the front entrance at 2:15 pm and facial masks are required).
