Henrietta R. (Walter) Wood

Henrietta R. Wood, age 77, of Homerville, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

Henrietta was born September 27, 1947 in Medina, Ohio to the late Clarence and Ethel (Brooks) Walter and has resided most of her life in Valley City. She was respectfully known as “Ms. Hen” which her license plate read.

She was the third generation of school cooks in her family, her grandma and her mother all had worked for the Buckeye School System for many years.

Henrietta was a proud member of the Valley City VFW Auxiliary.  She was noted for her wonderful bakery.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter Peggy Wood Casteel and grandchildren, Tiffany (Joshua, Sr.) Dunlevy, Nick Wood, Gabrielle Campbell and Max Wood.

Great grandchildren, Justice Earnhart, Joshua Dunlevy, Jr., Killian Campbell, Lachlan Campbell, Everett and Mae Wood.

Preceded in death by her sons, William and Curtis Wood; son-in-law, Casey Casteel.

Private Family Graveside Service was held at East Lawn Memory Garden, Brunswick, Ohio.

The Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City, has the honor of serving the Wood family.
