Helen Irene (Abram) Andrukat

Helen Irene Andrukat, 93, passed away peacefully Monday, November 16, 2020 at her residency at Plum Creek Assisting Living, Brunswick, Ohio.

Helen was born June 7, 1927 in Valley City, OH to the late Walter and Anna (nee Brettschneider) Abram.  She has been a lifelong resident of Valley City and graduate of Liverpool High School. After raising her family, she went to work at Old Phoenix Bank Brunswick Center as a bank teller, retiring after many years of service as the Vice President Loan Officer.

After she retired, Helen worked several years as the bookkeeper for Dr. Neil Grabenstetter, Valley City.

Helen was an active and faithful servant her church St. Paul Lutheran Church, Valley City, where she was a dedicated church organist for 70 years.  Helen also served as Sunday School superintendent, Financial Secretary, choir member and had directed the handbell choir for years.

Helen was an avid seamstress and noted for her beautiful handiwork of needlepoint and sewing.

She will be greatly missed her family, Mark (Sandy) Andrukat, Jeff (deceased) wife Sue Andrukat; grandchildren, Lindsey (Jon) Ivory, Lauren (Jason) Blaseg, Robert (Chrissy) Andrukat, Jennifer (Steve) Kiesel, Nick (Tracy) Andrukat and Ryan Andrukat.  12 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Harry Andrukat, 2007.

The family of Helen would like to express their appreciation to the staff and residents at Plum Creek for their love and care shone to their mom and grandmother over the past nine years.

Following Helen’s wishes, Cremation has taken place and no services at the present time. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at a time that will be safe for all to gather.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1377 Lester Road, Valley City, OH 44280.
