Grace Lillian (Smith) Hammon

Grace L. Hammon, 89, of Medina, Ohio passed into her heavenly home, Saturday, June 12, 2021.

Grace was born in Strongsville, Ohio on October 3, 1931 to the late Emil and Cassie (nee Woorcester) Smith. She had resided in Valley City for over 30 years prior to moving to Medina in 1984.

She was an active member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, the Women’s Fellowship and the choir.  Grace was also a member of the King’s Daughters.

She is survived by her children, Terry (Karen) Hammon and Nancy Cronick (Scott Sellers), grandchildren, Kelly (Bryan) Wiles, Aaron Hammon (Amber Lucas) and Amy Hamilton. In addition to 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, George Hammon and was the youngest of 14 Smith siblings joining them all once again in heaven.

There will be visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Weds, June 16, 2021 at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 6656 Center Road Valley City, where the Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM. Rev. Brian Burke, officiating. The burial will follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Valley City.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Church or Hospice of Western Reserve.
