George S. Schultz, age 95, of Medina, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
He was born February 17, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late George and Anastasia (nee Kosa) Schultz.
George is survived by his brother, William (Betty) Schultz of Kentucky, his sister, Verona Piechuta of Medina and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Schultz.
George served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, supporting military air operations while stationed in England and Europe. He was employed by General Motors in Parma for 30 years, retiring in 1980. George lived in Litchfield, Ohio for 45 years and was a member of St. Martin of Tours Church, Valley City.
George had many interests, including military history, aviation, classic cars, model railroads, classic movies and literature. His hobbies included drawing portraits and writing short stories.
George’s family would like to express their personal appreciation to the caregivers at Brookdale Medina South for the excellent attentive care and comfort they provided George during the last two years of his life, as well as to Dr. Shobha Khandelwal and her staff for their compassionate care. The family would also like to thank the Eucharistic Ministers and others from St. Francis Xavier Church for their dedicated and faithful service to George and the other residents at Brookdale Medina South. George was appreciative of all who cared for and supported him.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
A private family burial was held in St. Martin of Tours Cemetery, Valley City.
There will be a Memorial Mass held at a later date when friends and family can safely gather to remember.
