Francis E. “Butch” Wise, age 77, of Brunswick, OH passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 14, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Butch was born on October 27, 1943 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frank and Virginia (nee Denk) Studant. He had traveled throughout the United States and the world with his occupation and later settled in Florida and Brunswick.
Butch was a chemical engineer with Union Carbide/UCAR Carbon Company for over 30 years, earned three patents for industrial processes, and retired as a Corporate Fellow. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Brunswick.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy in life was being with his children and grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Rene’, married 53 years and children, Timothy Wise, Daniel Wise and Rebecca (Ben) Soulchin and grandsons Sebastian, Xavier, and Gabriel.
Sisters and brothers, Jeanne (Richard) Houghtlin, Peter Wise (Cindy Jackson), Craig Wise, Denise (Terry) Hawk, Ken (Lynn) Wise and numerous nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his father who raised him Walter “Wally” Wise.
A private family Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Brunswick and burial at Resurrection Cemetery, Valley City.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the St. Ambrose Building Fund.
