Frances E. Beriswill, 84, of Grafton, Ohio passed away peacefully at the family home farm on Friday, May 15, 2026, where she had lived for 62 years.
Born on July 9, 1941 in Wadsworth, Ohio, Frances was the daughter of the late Glenn and Eileen (Ries) Brophy. She was raised in Litchfield, Ohio, and graduated from Buckeye High School. After marrying Robert Beriswill, the couple made their home in Grafton in 1964. In her younger years, Frances enjoyed roller skating and dancing, where she and Robert first met.
Frances devoted much of her life to her family and community. She was deeply involved in her children’s activities and spent 14 years as a 4-H club advisor with the Lorain County Fair. She also served as a Lorain County Girl Scouts leader and was active with the Midview Band Boosters.
A faithful member of St. Martin of Tours, Frances generously volunteered her time in many ways, including assisting with funeral dinners and helping wherever she was needed.
Frances was a true country gal, a loving farmer’s wife, and someone who made everyone feel welcome. She worked alongside her husband helping with field work and chores around the farm, while also caring deeply for her family and home. She loved sharing good food, stories, and laughter. She cherished time spent with family and friends, especially the family picnics at the pond and moments shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found joy in baking, crocheting, sewing, gardening, and took pride in mowing her lawn. Her warm heart, kind spirit, and love for family will be remembered always.
She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (David) Koenig and Susan (Jeff) Geiger; grandchildren Ashley (John) Zacharias, Marissa (Harry III) Gongloff, Jared (Hailey) Koenig, Hannah and Bethany Geiger, and Taylor Puchmeyer; and great-grandchildren Caroline and Clayton Zacharias, Maven Gongloff, and one great-grandchild, Baby Koenig, expected soon. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1986; her sons, David in 2012 and Raymond in 2019; and her brother, Fred Brophy, in 2015.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the Gathering Area of St. Martin of Tours, 1800 Station Road, Valley City, followed by a Funeral Mass in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m.
