Evelyn Florence (Heise) Kloos, 93, passed away August 30, 2018, in Elms Nursing Home, Wellington, Ohio. She was born May 22, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio to Henry W. and Elsie A. (Schultz) Heise. She grew up in Cleveland, where she worked at the Cleveland Container Co., manufacturing shell casings during WWII, where she met the love of her life, Richard A. Kloos. Richard had enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served for four years. Upon his return, they married and lived in Cleveland for several years. The Klooses later lived in Nova, Brunswick and Olmsted Township, Ohio. Evelyn also lived in North Olmsted, Brunswick and Medina, Ohio following the death of her husband, who passed away in 1994. Evelyn was a member of the Lutheran Church and was a devout wife, and a mother of six children. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and television, especially "sitcoms" and soap operas. She loved music and played showtunes on piano and German polkas on the accordion. She also enjoyed traveling, picnics, "garage saling" and scrapbooking. Evelyn is survived by her children, Gary (Jeanne) Kloos, of Norwalk, Ohio, Kathie (Andy) Steppenbacker, of Chatham, Ohio, Rick (Debbie) Kloos, of Hebron, Kentucky, and Robin Kloos of Garfield Heights, Ohio; son-in-law John Poles; Grandchildren- Ian Kloos, Paul and Kim Steppenbacker, Jason and Jesse Kloos, Stephanie Moore, Ryan Kloos, Sean, Dawn and Emily Kloos; step grandsons David Cookman III and Matthew Cookman; great grandchildren, Gage and Alexandria Kloos, Abigail and Ella Kloos, Alaina, Sam and Avonlea Moore, Nolan, Winnie and Maggie Kloos, and step great-grandson Layne Cookman; sister-in-law Alma Dydo; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Richard Kloos, daughters Karen Poles in 2008 and Penny Kloos (Michel Estremera) in 2016; and Granddaughter Nancy Kloos; brother William Heise and his wife Helen; sisters Edith Heise, Hazel Slepko-Day and her husband's Frank and Wilson, Eleanor Locksey and her husband James, Julia "Mitzi" Rogers and her husband Richard. Friends may call Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, OH, with the funeral service at 1:00 PM.
