Edward A. Mewhinney

Edward A. Mewhinney, 66, of Medina, Ohio passed onto his heavenly home on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Ed was born on April 5, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Robert and Theresa (McFadden) Mewhinney.  He has resided in Medina since 1991.

He was a member of St. Martin of Tours, Valley City and a 35-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous.  Ed worked in plumbing sales at Wolff Bros. Supply, Medina for 29 years. Ed served in the United States Marine Corp for three years.

Ed was a loving husband and wonderful father. He enjoyed sports, fishing, camping and the great outdoors. He loved music and going to concerts with his family. And he would never pass up a game of Kubb in the backyard.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Barb (nee Mellert), married 32 years. Son, Josh (Jessica) Mewhinney and daughter, Kara Mewhinney (Erick Sprang), sisters and brothers, Therese (deceased) husband Alan Staniszewski, Bob Mewhinney, Patty (Mike) Szumilak and Tom (Grace) Mewhinney. Brother in law to Beth Mellert and Bonny (Tim) Funk. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Calling hours 4:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM, Friday, January 12, 2024 at St. Martin of Tours, Chapel 1800 Station Road Valley City.

Burial will be held 10:45 AM, Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rawiga Road Seville, OH. Please meet at the entrance by 10:30 AM.
