Douglas A. Ballash

Douglas A. Ballash, of Valley City, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Doug was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Willard and Collette (Coll) Ballash. He has resided in Valley City since 1972.

Doug was a truck driver for many years and retired as a large equipment mechanic with Hertz Equipment Rental, formerly Phillips Day Maddak, in 2006.

He was a go to guy for fixing anything that needed repair. Doug enjoyed his social gatherings with the guys. He enjoyed mowing his large lawn and building model airplanes.

 He will be greatly missed by his wife, Laurie, married 58 years,

Children, Scott Ballash (Diana Maitland), Sandie (Jim) Fagan and Steven Ballash, (deceased). Grandchildren, Mikey (Megan) Winans, Alexis Boettcher, Haleigh Ballash, Joseph Winans and Brandon Ballash (both deceased).  A sister Carol Burgess, deceased.

At Doug’s request, there will be no services and cremation has taken place.

The Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City, has the honor of serving the Ballash family.
