Donna Jean (Brubaker) Zacharias

Donna J. Zacharias, 91, of Valley City passed into her heavenly home Tuesday, August 17, 2021. Donna was born August 25, 1929 in Medina, Ohio to the late Kermit and Mamie (Nichols) Brubaker. She has resided in Medina County her entire life.  Donna was a dedicated homemaker and bookkeeper with her husband’s business Zacharias Excavating. She had been a volunteer for 25 years as a Red Cross Gray Lady at Medina General Hospital. Donna was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Valley City.

Donna is noted as being the loving grandmother for providing her famous Christmas cookies for all to enjoy and she also enjoyed working in her beautiful flower gardens.

Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 72 years, Stuart Zacharias on April 27, 2021, a grandson Benjamin Zacharias and her brother, Dean Brubaker.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Diane (John) Johnson, Chris (Bill) Schnurr, Jim (Joan) Zacharias, Robert (Elizabeth) Zacharias and Bill (Lori) Zacharias.  Grandchildren, Sarah (Todd) Myers, Matthew Buddie, Billy Schnurr, Brian (Azania) Schnurr, Laura (Joel) Provenzano, Jenny Schnurr, Mary Jo (Mike) Morgan, Tim Zacharias, Lauren (Tyler) Kukurza, Rachel (Joe) Walker, Luke Zacharias, Andrew, Kai & Taylor Zacharias, along with 13 great grandchildren.

Sister-n-law:  Wilma Hoermann (late Howard Zacharias).

Brother-n-laws: Charles (Fran) Zacharias and Larry (late Carol) Mitchell.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation hour, Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM followed by a 2:00 PM Funeral Service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1377 Lester Road Valley City. Pastor Phillip Zielinski, officiating.  Burial at St. Paul Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland Clinic or St. Paul Church.
