Donald Kovach Obituary

Donald W. Kovach went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 24, 2026. He was born on August 19, 1959, to Mary (Ptak) Kovach and James J. Kovach.

Don married the love of his life, Georgia Tucker, on December 3, 2011, and the two shared a steady, committed relationship throughout their years together. He was preceded in death by his father, his twin brother David, and his wife, Georgia.

He is survived by his mother, Mary; sisters Barbara Litchniak (Larry), and Beverly Tetlak (Jay); and brothers James A., Frank (Jackie), Kenneth (Julie), Michael (Stacie), and Steve (Connie). Don also leaves behind many nieces and nephews with whom he enjoyed spending time.

Don’s love extended far beyond his immediate family. He was a steadfast companion not only to Georgia, but to her children, Ronald (Cynthia) Tucker, Debbie (Wayne) Wolfe, and Gale (Jim) Tesar, whom he embraced wholeheartedly. He selflessly fulfilled the role of grandfather to Ashleigh (Dustin) Prochaska, Abigail Wolfe, Emily Wolfe, Evan Tesar, and Liz Wyatt (Corey), and great‑grandfather to Harleigh, Myles, and Maelyn. His presence in their lives was a blessing they will carry forward.

Don graduated from Brunswick High School before building a career at Shiloh Industries in Valley City, from which he later retired. He enjoyed antique cars, fishing, and going to church. He was an active and committed member of the Masons and Eastern Star, serving multiple years in the East alongside Georgia. Don and Georgia also enjoyed hosting countless family and friend picnics at the farmhouse over the years, where good food, conversation, and time together were always at the center.

Don’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was never ashamed to speak of God’s promises, and he shared his testimony openly and often. His unwavering belief brought him peace, purpose, and hope, and those who knew him were touched by the sincerity of his witness.

Although we grieve the loss of Don’s earthly presence, we rejoice in knowing he is now in heaven, reunited with his Lord and Savior.
