Delores "Dee" W. (Demiter) Yost

Delores W. Yost, 76, of West Salem, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Dee was born in Akron, Ohio on November 21, 1945 to the late John and Helen (Fetzer) Demiter. She grew up in Wadsworth and graduated from Wadsworth High School.  Though Dee spent most of her adult life in Valley City, she enjoyed her last years close to her youngest daughter in West Salem.

She was a former member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Valley City where she was active in the helping with VBS and most recently a member of Red Haw United Methodist Church, Polk, Ohio.

When her daughters were in Girl Scouts, Dee served as an assistant Girl Scout leader; she enjoyed crafting and bird watching.

Dee met her husband Harry Yost while working at the Free Oil Company in Medina. She later spent several years working at Shangri La Nursing Home and, in 2007, retired from the Material Management Department at Medina Hospital.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Karen (Justin) Tidwell and Diane (Michael) Stewart. Grandchildren, Mariah Tidwell, Collin Tidwell, Alaina Stewart and Cooper Stewart.

Brothers and sisters, Helen Reljin, Daniel Demiter, Suzan Demiter, Esther Slagle, Edward Demiter, Phillip Demiter, Sarah Henico, Elenore Thompson and Michael Demiter. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband Harry Yost and several brothers and sisters- John Demiter, Mary Riffle, Paul Demiter, Margaret Demiter, Carl Demiter, infant Benjamin and Kathy Demiter.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, where the funeral will be followed at 2:00PM.
Burial will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Valley City.
