David Arthur Abram

David Arthur Abram, 81, went home to the Lord on March 30, 2023 with his loving wife by his side and family support, after a long illness.

David was born June 1, 1941 in Valley City to the late Arthur Carl and Myra (nee Zacharias) Abram. He was raised in Valley City and lived in Columbia Station and Greenwich, Ohio on his beloved farm.

David retired to Pittsfield, Ohio for the last 12 years of his life, where he enjoyed the rural outdoors, family and friends.

After high school, David joined his father in the family “Abram” business in Olmsted Falls as a mechanic at a Texaco service station. David and his father were active in the farming community in Valley City managing livestock and farming services.

David was stationed in New London Connecticut (1965-1967) on the USS Hardhead as MM3SS E-5 after attendance on the USS COD in Cleveland, Ohio and Lake Michigan Naval Reserves (1963-1965), with active duty during the Vietnam War (1965-1967), Reservist (1967- 1969). After duty to his Country, he entered the Millwright Local Union 1871 in Cleveland, where he retired in 1998.

David was an avid outdoorsman, boatsman and fisherman, loved his farm, tractors, machinery and environmental activities.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jennifer (nee Matey) and he was the proud father of Dale (Martha) Abram and Jennifer (Daniel) Miller; grandfather of 4.

 Preceded in death by a sister- Margaret Coleman.

The family would like to Thank to loving staff of Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin for the wonderful care given to David.

Following David's wishes cremation has taken place.

Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM, April 25, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, 1377 Lester Road, Valley City, OH with full military honors.
