Daniel Patrick Schaefer

Daniel Patrick Schaefer, 47, of Valley City, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024.  He was born in Medina on August 21, 1976 to Paul and the late Patricia (Wilhelm) Schaefer.  He graduated from Buckeye High School in 1994 and was employed at Schaefer Plumbing, where he was a proud third generation plumber, from graduation to his passing.

 Daniel was a kind and loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend.  He had an infectious sense of humor and loved to crack jokes.  He loved cooking delicious barbeques for his loved ones, going camping, and Cleveland sports.  His happy place was on his patio listening to music.  He was a veteran member of the St. Martin’s chicken pit crew, and he’ll be missed at the Valley City July 4th parade, where he could be seen driving the family fire truck piled high with kids.

He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia and grandparents, Cy and Helen Schaefer and Bob and Delores Wilhelm.  He will be greatly missed by his wife Emily (Di Feo); children Olivia and Jonas Schaefer; stepchildren, Andrew, Ethan, Olivia and Amy Justice; his father Paul and his wife Karen; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sarah and Jimmy Petitt and Hannah and Adam Schiffman; nephews, J.P. Petitt and Adam Schiffman, Jr. and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 3:00-8:00 pm at St. Martin of Tours, Gathering Area, 1800 Station Road Valley City, Funeral Mass in St. Martin’s Chapel- 11:00 am on Friday, August 9, 2024, with an hour visitation prior to the Mass.

In Lieu of flowers- Contributions may be made to the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road  Valley City, Ohio  44280 to help defray the funeral expenses.
