Daniel James Cogar

Daniel J. Cogar, 49, of Medina, Ohio passed away peacefully in his sleep following many health issues on February 25, 2025.

He was born on August 10, 1975, in Sandusky, Ohio to Donald J. and Peggy J. (Howell) Cogar.

Daniel was a former automobile mechanic for many years. He loved spending time with his dog, Sampson, and listening to southern gospel and country music.  Dan was very talented and could play many instruments.

Daniel is survived by his daughter, Autumn Cogar of West Salem, his mother Peggy Cogar of Medina and his sister, Jenny Cogar of Brunswick. Niece, Jessica Cogar of Medina, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Cogar, his sister, Jeany Cogar, his grandparents, some aunts, uncles, a cousin and his best friends, Greg.

Family and friends are welcome to attend Daniel’s Graveside Service, 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2025 at Spring Grove Cemetery, St. Rt. 18, Medina, OH

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Bauer Funeral Home, 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, Ohio.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.

A very special Thank You to his cousin Lisa for going above and beyond o take care of him and his daughter!!

The family would also like to thank Dan’s dear friend Linda Johnson for everything she did for him and also to all of his neighbors for their loving care over the years.
