Curtis E. Atkins

Curtis E. Atkins, 88, of Valley City, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, January 22, 2026.

He was born July 6, 1937 in Floyd, VA to the late Robert and Nora (Wallace) Atkins.  He has resided in Valley City for many years. Curtis and his wife Linda enjoyed their winter months in Florida for 22 years.

Curtis had worked at MTD in Brook Park, Ohio for many 41 years.

He was a United States Navy veteran, a lifelong member of the Valley City VFW Post# 5563, Amvets and Moose Lodge in Elyria, Ohio. Curtis took great pride in maintaining his home and yard.

He is survived by his wife Linda (Davis), they’ve been married 69 years; His son, Curtis Michael (Mike) Atkins (Lloyetta) and his daughter Cindy Atkins-Zweifel; his grandchildren, Donny Atkins, Jason Zweifel (Megan), Alexa Atkins and Megan Loughrie (Scott); his great grandchildren, Mya, Emerson, Alaina, Nora, Eleanor and Lucy.  He also has 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Following Curtis’s request. Cremation has taken place. The family will have a Celebration of Life gathering at a later date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the PCD Foundation (Primary Cilliary Dyskinesia), fund dear to their heart- Curtis’s great granddaughter, Nora for further research.
