Clinton Roy Zacharias was born on February 9, 1933, in Elyria, Ohio to Roy and Eleanor (Schuttpelz) Zacharias. He died on April 17, 2021, at the age of 88.
He leaves to treasure his memories: his wife of 65½ years, Judith; their children, Cheryl Zacharias, Brenda M. Zacharias, Benjamin (Tasha) Zacharias, and Keturah Zacharias; sister-in-law, Brenda K. Zacharias; nieces Marceia Cox and Abigail (Nick) LoCascio; as well as a host of other relatives and close friends.
Clinton became a baptized Christian in June 1955 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He served as an elder for 55-plus years in the Medina and Brunswick Congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Clinton retired in 2001 after 44 years of dedicated service to Hausted Manufacturing as a welder, metal finisher, assembler, and supervisor.
His priorities in life were serving Jehovah God, studying the Bible, sharing Bible truths with others, caring for his family spiritually and materially, and serving and shepherding the congregation. Throughout his life, Clinton found pleasure walking in the woods and taking drives through the countryside. After retiring, Clinton enjoyed accompanying his son to his jobs cutting lawns and performing other jobs in the community. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and as a kind man with strength of character.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ordean Zacharias; and brother, Vancel Zacharias.
A memorial service will be held via Zoom conferencing in a few weeks.
A private family graveside has been held at Litchfield Cemetery, Litchfield, Ohio.
