Charles "Chuck" McDivitt Obituary

Charles (Chuck) E. McDivitt, 93, formerly of Valley City went home to be with the Lord on his birthday, June 29, 2020.

Chuck was born in Warren, Ohio to the late George and Leola (nee Bartoe) McDivitt. He grew up on his family farm in Portage County and lived in Medina County for many years.

A WW II U.S. Navy veteran and a carpenter by trade, Chuck worked for Lad Vasel, Bob Schmitt Builders and Gunton Corporation (Pella Windows) during his lengthy career.

Chuck was blessed to receive Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1948.  He lived an active Christian life and was known as a bold witness for Jesus Christ. Spending time with his family was priority number one. His other pastimes included fishing, gardening, attending bible study, playing sports and completing puzzles.

He is survived by his children, Timothy (Diane) McDivitt, Tina (Greg) Wells, Tami (Shawn) George, and Trenna (Jermey) Kline.

Grandchildren, Daniel, Nathan, Hannah, Rachel (Sal), David (Amanda), Amanda Rae, and Becca.  Great grandchildren, McKenzie and Reilly.  Two sisters-Jeanette (Bob) Shedd and Nancy (Howard) Hill.

Preceded in death by his first wife Marie (nee Dyson) McDivitt, second wife Helena (Godfrey) McDivitt, his 4 sisters and 5 brothers, and his infant son, Thomas Arthur McDivitt.

There will be NO visitation. Family and friends are invited to the Graveside Service for Chuck at Eastlawn Memory Garden located on Grafton Road and near West 130th Street, Brunswick on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 1:00PM.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

 In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project 600 River Avenue, Suite 400, Pittsburgh, PA  15212 or the Berea Baptist Church, 250 West Street, Berea, OH  44017.
